Cognitive Classes
Organization
- When living with a disorganized person, it is important to look where piles are and create storage in that area. Baskets, totes, etc. can be used for storage.
- When organizing, it is important to be realistic with yourself about items to keep.
- When living with disorganized person and trying to organize/co-design a shared space it helps to work in 2-4 hour focused sessions.
- Motivation must come from the disorganized person. It can’t be forced upon them.
- It is important to emphasize the positive when working with a disorganized person.
- When looking at what’s not working with your organization, you have to look at the bigger picture and solve all the problems not just some of the problems.
Computer Lab
- Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks are when a lot of computers request to connect to a specific site in order to temporarily disable the site.
- The four D’s to hacking are: Disrupt, Destroy, Degrade, and Disable.
Psychosocial
- The primary function of the temporal lobes are auditory processing.
- Auditory processing includes hearing sounds, identifying sounds, and mimic sounds.
- Injury to the temporal lobe can cause paranoia.
- Aphasia can be expressive or receptive.
- Language acquisition develops in the temporal lobes.
- 80% of language acquisition skills occurs within the first 3-5 years.
- Language centers are found on the opposite of your dominant side.
